“ We asked Jackie to help us design a garden in our rather run-down pony paddock. The view was amazing, but the site presented lots of problems. Living on a valley hillside we are exposed to “weather” meaning…high winds, driving rain, summer heat, occasional drought conditions, and frost pockets!” A daunting situation for OAP’s with limited experience by a determination to enhance the landscape. To add to our woes, we also had a seam of bedrock running through the ground. Digging was tricky as soil depth varied and part of the proposed garden would be sited on a soil heap left from earlier building works.

We approached Jackie with trepidation feeling certain she would not wish to tackle such a project. To our delight she agreed to “have’ a look”, and the rest as they say, is history! From that initial visit the transformation began.

It was a project that would take several years to reach fruition. The end results exceeded our expectations and more.

Jackie reassured us that it could be done. She asked lots of questions, probing gently to ascertain exactly what we were hoping to achieve. We floundered on, and she reassured us that it was possible. Jackie’s extensive horticultural knowledge and experience enabled us to plan as a team, a beautiful yet manageable garden. She visited us frequently to monitor progress (groundwork contractors having been brought it). We were in constant email contact. Jackie’s patience and good humour in answering every query kept us enthused and positive. She made planting suggestions but encouraged us to make the final choices and decisions. We dithered a bit, but she was wise in making us step out of our comfort zone. We feel a real sense of ownership of the garden now.

It’s been a labour of love that would not have happened had it not been for Jackie. We can’t thank here enough.

" When we had finished renovating our house we were looking for inspiration to develop the external landscape.
Having visited Jackie’s awe inspiring garden at one of the annual Open Garden events followed by recommendations from other locals with experience of her work we approached her. As non-gardeners and with a blank canvas we had a great opportunity to develop an appealing garden that fitted our various needs.

Jackie took our brief for all year round colour and contrast with a preference for low maintenance along with an approximate budget. Jackie returned with an exciting design and planting schedule and once agreed she sourced plants, shrubs and trees from a variety of suppliers and arranged delivery, and advised on the where and how to plant.

Two years on we are delighted with how our garden is maturing and we are constantly congratulated on its appearance by both locals and passer-bys.

Jackie can combine her creativity, knowledge and experience to any garden, taking her clients through the process from start to finish including advice post project.
